Klaipeda
Klaipeda is the third largest city of Lithuania and the most important port of the country. Founded in 1252, the city passed the life period from 13th till 20th century under Russian, Prussian, French, German, and Swedish domination. The city was damaged a lot during the conflagration of 1854 and the Second World War. Rebuilt in the Soviet time, it keeps a very dynamic port activity and now offers rich culture.
Panoramic tour of Klaipeda. During the tour we will get acquainted with the most interesting ancient sights of Klaipeda, which have survived by the present day. The remains of the fort on the Curonian Spit (dated to the 19th century), the remains of the castle in the Old Town (15-19th centuries) and several bastion of this castle. The Castle was built in the 13th century by the Teutonic Knights. A beautiful view of Klaipeda opens up from the castle. We will walk through old charming city streets, formed in 13-15th centuries.
