Visit of Rakvere Castle. Established in the 13th century by the Danes, conquerors of Estonia, the city of Wesenberg (Rakvere in Estonian) has always been at the crossroads of the great empires fighting on the territory of Estonia. In 20 years after its foundation, the castle became the arena of the first battle between the Danes and Russians. It was passing into different hands over the centuries, by turns becoming Swedes, Poles, Swedes and finally Russian. We visit several outbuildings of the castle, torture chambers and dungeons, and attend one of the many medieval events which take place here.
